How It Works
Step 1: Register to Bid
- In Person: Visit our registration area on-site during inspection days or on auction day. Our team will get you set up with a bidder number and lanyard.
- Online: Log in at rbauction.com.au, register for the auction in advance, and receive your bidder number digitally.
Step 2: How to Bid – Live or Online
- On-Site: Raise your hand when you're ready to bid. A bid catcher will relay your bid to the auctioneer.
- Online: Click the “Bid Now” button to place your bid in real time. Online bids are tracked and relayed to the auctioneer live.
Step 3: Choice & Linked Items
- When similar items are grouped together, the highest bidder gets to choose which units they want at the winning price—one, multiple, or all.
- If not all items are taken, the next highest bidder has the chance to purchase at the same price. If they pass, bidding starts again.
Step 4: Priority Bidding
- Submit your maximum bid in advance using Priority Bidding.
- Contact our customer service team for help with setting it up.
Step 5: Winning and Equipment Pickup
- Winning bidders will receive an invoice after the auction.
- Payment is by wire transfer only.
- Our team will be on-site to help with release and collection of equipment.
Fees & Terms
- All lots purchased from Australian auctions incur an 8.5% transaction fee, applicable to on-site, online, and proxy purchases, in the currency of the auction. There is a minimum fee of $100 (local currency) per lot and all charges are subject to GST.
- All items are sold where is, as is, in their current condition, without registration and warranty. Ritchie Bros. recommends that all buyers thoroughly inspect items before placing a bid.
